Embarking on a journey from Sweden, during my master’s program, marked the beginning of an unforgettable adventure. As the warmth of June enveloped us, my friends and I found ourselves planning our inaugural summer trip. Our aspirations were clear – we sought an experience that balanced length, cultural immersion, and excitement. The destination that ignited our curiosity and anticipation was none other than Poland 🇵🇱.

Nestled in the east-central part of the country, Warsaw is a city steeped in resilience and history. Unlike its European counterparts, Warsaw's allure lies not in its size or age, but in its indestructibility—a phoenix that has risen time and time again from the ashes of war.

Our arrival in the city was greeted by a breathtaking sight—the Palace of Culture and Science illuminated against the night sky. This iconic landmark, gifted to the Polish people by Joseph Stalin in 1955, stood as a testament to Warsaw's enduring spirit. Built by Russian workers, it once symbolized socialist power and the pride of People’s Poland.

At the entrance to the pier, we were greeted by a tranquil spa garden adorned with rounded pergolas and a bubbling fountain. This serene oasis served as the perfect prelude to our seaside adventure, offering a moment of respite before we embarked on our journey to the Sopot Lighthouse.
